Company overview

The Data Governance Junior Developer supports the organization’s data management and governance objectives by assisting in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data governance solutions and workflow automation. This role is ideal for early-career developers who have foundational programming skills and are eager to grow in data governance, data quality, metadata management, and lineage processes.

The individual will work closely with senior developers, data stewards, and business partners to ensure that data is accurate, well-documented, traceable, and aligned with organizational data standards.

The Contributions You Will Make

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing data governance workflows, data quality rules, and metadata solutions.
Support the development and maintenance of integrations between governance tools (e.g., Collibra), databases, APIs, and downstream applications.
Participate in the design and development of data lineage and metadata capture processes.
Write and maintain scripts, services, and automation components using technologies such as .NET, SQL Server, Groovy, and/or GraphQL (as applicable).
Perform basic system analysis, troubleshooting, debugging, and testing of data governance components.
Work collaboratively with business users, data owners, and senior technical leads to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
Contribute to documentation of data models, workflows, and governance processes.
Stay current with data governance best practices, tools, and industry trends.
Follow organizational guidelines, coding standards, and Agile processes for development and delivery.
Provide support in managing business requests, enhancements, and issue resolution.

Education Qualification

Engineering Graduate or BSc in Computer Science/Information Science or Equivalent
Agile certifications would be a plus

Expected Minimum Knowledge & Experience

2–4 years of experience in software development or data-related roles.
Foundational knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
Basic experience in .NET development (C# preferred) or similar programming frameworks.
Working knowledge of SQL, including writing simple queries and understanding database concepts.
Understanding of APIs and ability to work with REST-based services.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Other Required Critical Skills

Exposure to Data Governance, Data Lineage, or Metadata Management concepts.
Working knowledge of Collibra, Azure, or any cloud platform.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Groovy.
Basic understanding of GraphQL.
Exposure to Power BI, dashboards, or reporting tools.
Knowledge of design patterns and best practices.
Experience or interest in the Investment Management or Financial Services domain.
